Frequently Asked Questions
+ What are your health precautions?
To ensure the safety of yourself, fellow clients, and practitioners, kindly adhere to the following guidelines:
If you experience any symptoms of concern, please reschedule your appointment! Maluhia Massage is open for studio appointments Sundays, from 10 AM to 7 PM.
+ What should I expect for my first visit?
You will receive a health intake form 24 hours before your scheduled appointment. Kindly complete and return this form before your treatment time.
Upon arriving at 819 SE Morrison Street, please proceed to suite #230 on the second floor. Kindly note that this is a shared wellness space. Entry to the building and use of restrooms requires door codes, which you'll receive with appointment confirmation.
+ What should I wear to my appointment?
Your level of comfort and the specific massage you've scheduled will determine the following guidelines:
Before your massage, we'll have a discussion about your health history and session objectives. Afterward, you'll have privacy to undress to your preferred level of comfort. Some clients opt to leave their underwear on, while others prefer not to wear undergarments.
For Ashiatsu or Mana Lomi massages, it's advised to undress completely to fully benefit from the experience. Don't worry, you'll be draped with a sheet and blanket throughout the session for both modesty and warmth.
In chair massage sessions, you can remain fully clothed for your convenience and comfort!
+ How deep is your deep tissue?
To accommodate your varying muscle soreness and pain levels, I tailor each treatment recommendation accordingly. Your session will be meticulously crafted with your pain relief and relaxation as my priority. At Maluhia Massage, our Ashiatsu Massage stands as the pinnacle of deep tissue therapy, providing unparalleled relief!
+ Is it necessary to include gratuity?
While gratuity is appreciated, it is not required. If you are in need of regular care, please do not worry about anything extra! If you are working with a budget, sliding scale prices are available, please ask.
+ Do you accept insurance?
At present, we do not accept health insurance. However, if you have a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) through your workplace, Maluhia Massage can provide an insurance superbill for potential reimbursements.
For those involved in motor vehicle accidents (MVAs), Oregon residents are covered by Personal Injury Protection (PIP) insurance, which offers up to $15,000 for medical, chiropractic, and therapeutic massage treatments for up to a year post-accident.
With over 13 years of expertise in handling MVA cases, Maluhia Massage is renowned for its professional communication and compassionate care in aiding individuals in their recovery journey, helping them regain balance and manage pain resulting from motor accidents.
